The Divison: Heartland was going to be an all new stand-alone adventure in The Divison universe. It was a free-to-play Survival Action Shooter, filled with dynamic PvEvP gameplay. The player would have had to deal with rogue agents, contamination, and enemy factions, to keep the small town of Silver Creek safe. 

 

For Heartland, I was a Game Designer, tasked with working on realization, player experience, and gameplay mechanics. I collaborated closely with different disciplines to create unique gameplay, including missions & player-facing features. I championed survival feature designs, ran brainstorm sessions, and proposed/implemented new systems & mechanics.​​

HUMANS 101

     Humans 101 is a VR user-generated content creation game with an amusing narrative. Aliens have “somewhat” abducted you to ask that you volunteer for their experiments and your task is to complete the experiments they put in front of you to help correct their data!

     For Humans 101, I worked as a Narrative, Audio, & Game Designer. For Narrative, I created a script in tandem with a story timeline and an autokey ciphered Alien Alphabet. I produced dialogue flowcharts, aided in integrating an emotion-based dialogue system, and constructed/tested various "alien" experiments. For Audio, I worked closely with voice artists during their sessions, edited voice lines, & applied alien-style audio design. For Design, I devised 12+ alien experiments to foster user-generated content & concepted several VR gameplay challenges.

SCRAPER: GAUNTLET

Scraper: Gauntlet is a mid-quel that takes place during the same time period & universe as Scraper: First Strike. It features deep weapon customization through modifications and upgrades that players can mix and match to assemble their build. 

 

For Scraper: Gauntlet, I worked as a Narrative, Audio, & UX Designer. For Narrative, I created new characters and a new script based on the lore of Scraper: First Strike. For Audio, I edited & modified all voice lines, coordinated with the animator for lip-synced cutscenes, worked with voice actors for characterization, and wrote & implemeneted supplemental NPC enemy voice lines. For UX, I designed UX & game experience documentation for various systems within the game.

SCRAPER: FIRST STRIKE

Scraper: First Strike is a VR sci-fi shooter with RPG and exploration elements. It takes the player on a journey through a new IP with fully developed characters, story arcs, and a world filled with unique and exciting environments.     

 

For Scraper: First Strike, I worked as a Narrative, Game, & UX Designer. For Narrative, I created informational lore messages, compiled all old story documentation & created new to supplement, and revised the entire Episode 1 script. I also transcribed all text in-game for localization purposes, as well as researched & proposed futuristic technologies for story changes. For Gameplay, I implemented 30 unique achievements for Steam, Oculus, Vive, and PSVR & customized NPC environmental dialogue triggers based on level progress. And finally, I created UX designs for our Weapon Wheel & VR Book Reader.

SOJOURN

Champlain College Capstone Project | 3D Fantasy Puzzle Game | Unreal Engine 4 | Status: Not Published

Sojourn is a first person puzzle game where memories become gateways to a life well lived. Travel into, out of, and between paintings of your life-defining memories to traverse the Victorian corridors of your mind. Each room is an Escher-esque puzzle that begins in the paintings. As you solve puzzles memories resurface allowing you to move on.     

 

For Sojourn, I worked as a Narrative Desinger. I created a concrete story to tie into the painting mechanic that the game originated from.  I wrote, recorded, edited, & implemented all dialogue in game, ran QA sessions, and worked with our composers to create personalized soundtracks. I performed quality checks on the narrative interactions, collaborated with our programmer on the "painting by nth" system, placed physical and emotional details about characters throughout paintings, & concepted mechanic diagrams for simple gameplay implementation.
